I posted this question yesterday in Electrical, but got no response (sorry to post twice, just really need to know): Basically, I just need to know how you found the cable with the 5/8" threaded end, instead of the stock one that snaps on. Auto parts stores want to know what kind of car you have so that they can look up the right part, and I don't know what kind of cars use the treaded end as stock. I have a TH350 automatic transmission if that helps.
-Thanks guys

I could be mistaken, but I'm 99.9% sure that my stock speedo cable for my '68 is threaded on both the tranny end and speedo end. What year is your car? (mine had a th350 in it when I bought it)

The car is a 69 and the stock speedometer has a clip on the back that snaps the cable in place. The guy at Autozone said that thats the only kind of cable they had (I don't know if he meant at all, or just to fit my car). Does anyone else know if the speedometer is different on a 68 and if it will fit the Autometer?
-Thanks

This is similar to the one I have-don't know the fitting sizes....

I'd suggest asking for a '68 cable and comparing the length to the one you have

I hope it works out for you! Post back when you get it working for others to reference in the future.

Yeah it is threaded. My friend has cars bought different years and saw all of them are threaded.
