Has anyone outhere used the kit being offered in popular magazine ads that converts first generation Camaros to rack & pinion steering?

Which one? Steeroids? Rasmussen? Martz?

I've got one of the ones from Art Rassmussen. It's definitely cleaned up the engine compartment for my car.
I went with a non-power steering unit that is still functional with the 265/40-18's I have up front. I'd tend to recommend doing power steering for most cars. Mine isn't as much fun in crowded parking lots.

Bryan,

What did that unit/setup cost? Is it comparable to what Steeroids has on the market in terms of quality and price? Do you feel that it has made much of an improvement over a full rebuilt stock setup to justify the $1,000 plus dollars?

My car was the prototype, so the price was spread out over time. I believe Art is charging something like $2500 for the base sub-frame and then something like $6800 for a complete kit.

As for the improvement being worth it in comparison of the other kits. It's definitely better than stock. I really don't know if it's better than the other kits.

I'm surprised this is not a more widley discussed topic as it seems the first generations w/ manual steering leave much to be desired in everyday street handling.
