I blew out the cylinder of the PDB caliper #633 casting on the 69. What is the best way to remove the rubber gasket and the ring of the inside of the cylinder? Figured I would rebuild the calipers for $12 bucks instead of buying rebuilt 633's for $96.

69 Calipers are very simple/easy to rebuild... mostly cleaning and then replace the two rubber parts... (fluid seal and dust seal)...

Use a screwdriver to carefully pry out the dust boot. Be careful not to damage the piston. I use a cotter pin removal tool or 90* pick to remove the internal seal. Again be careful not to damage the bore. It's very straight forward once you get into it. I would do both sides. If one blew the other's probably not far behind. Check out youtube.

Make sure to check the cylinder and piston for pitting. If all looks good assemble using plenty of brake fluid on the seal, piston and cylinder.

toughest part I had was getting the dust seal to start back on. NAPA had parts in stock which was good
