I have a 69 coupe that I am installing a new interior in. The headrest covers seem to just fit over the old ones. I havn't tried to put them one yet but I don't see how they are secured on the bottom side. Has anyone done this?
The original headrests had a plastic trim piece on the underside of the headrest. If yours is still there, remove it and fold the excess headrest cover material into the underside, and glue it in place. Then replace the trim piece.
If your trim piece is among the missing, I would cut a piece of vinyl to the shape of the underside and glue it in place. I've never seen a repop trim piece.
