i cleaned mine with TSP and scuffed it up a bit. I polished all the parts that did not get paint, and then masked off the dash, including the back.Then used adhesion promoter, primer, and paint...5 or 6 light coats. Then when thoroughly dry, I buffed it a little with a cotton rag. Mine turned out great.
As for the chrome accents, I spent hours and hours with a fine brush, and silver acrilic paint. Looked pretty good, but I ended up giving it to a guy in Columbus to rechrome.
