Who makes the best black replacement dash pads for 68's? I can't use JustDashes (10 week turnaround time right now...) so I have to go the repro route. Classic Industries and Year One have been my main suppliers so far. Anyone have any suggestions?
Kile, with repro dash pads there is a common failure or bad finishing look that consist of the following: The top mounting studs come installed in a weird angle and when you install the pad and peoceed to tightening them the top of the dash becomes dimpled. I tell you cause I purshased one from NPD that came like that. What I did was loosened the studs nuts a little, but with threadlocker in it so I can relieve some pressure, now it looks better but not perfect. The only supplier that says their repros don't have that situation is Rick's first generation. I saved my original in case I can send it to just dashes in the future. Check around, maybe some TC member has purshased a Rick's repro and can tell you his experience. Good luck...
