Hey guys I need some help. My question is: is there a beauty ring made to fit a reversed rally wheel?? If so please tell me where I'm having no luck at all.I got some 15x8 reversed rally wheels. Supposedly they had to reverse them to get a 3 3/4 backspace. Now the problem is the beauty ring won't fit. The valve stem hole sets a little to far back. On a regular rally the valve stem exits in the little lip so the stem actually slants forward. with the wheel reversed there is no little lip so the valve stem points straight up. Not only is there a gap toward the back ( i can live with that ) but there is a gap all around the side ( looks like crap )

I haven't heard of reversed rims since the 70's. I thought the practice was stopped do to a safety factor and libiality placed on the shop reversing the wheel...

What is gained running 3 3/4" back spaced 8" wheels? I would think your tires will look like they are sticking out the wheel well...

I just screwed up dennis.I wanted wider tires in the back and I have 15x8 with 4 1/2" backspace. I have 60's now and wanted to go with 50's. the tire was close to the exaust pipe when the shocks were compressed so my thinking was to push everything out so the distance between the exuast and tire stayed the same. When I told the wheel guy I needed a 3 3/4 backspace he said no problem but they would be reversed I said o.k. (that didn't meen anything to me at the time) BUT it does now! and yes it does make them stick out a little too much I'm just trying to recover from my mistake.

Blaine - we've all got stories to tell, I actually busted a brand new windshield about a week after it was installed... Sounds to me like your exhaust isn't in the best possible place. I ran 15x8's with a 5" bs for a while on the back of my car. With 60 series tires I got a bit of scrubbing on the inside fender well but nothing serious. I know a '67 is a bit different back there than my '69 but I'm sure guys are running 15x8's 5" bs on '67s and '68s.

I really like the look of 50 series tires on a '67/'68 good luck getting things straightened out. You might try a shop like these guys. http://www.stocktonwheel.com/trims_caps.htm They deal in enough different cars and trucks they may be able to come up with something that will work for you. Lots of Chevy trucks came with 15" trim rings...

Imho, deep dish, reverse rims were made to be chromed!!

I had CRAGAR's on my car as soon as I could get to KCMO and buy them in the late winter of '66/early spring of '67!!

They were still on my car in '73 when I traded it in and they still looked like new!! Fenton slotted mags were on it when I got it back in about '81 or '82. And they are up on my shelf now still mounted w/ E & L-60/14's on them..

Well i think my option now is to toss the reversed rally's. I just got back from the muffler man he said he could move the rear exaust in and out of the rear wheel area and dump them just behind the tire. I do like how they are know if you see the pic in my signiture. Oh well can't have everything and what the heck it's just MO' MONEY. What do you think. Where did the originals dump?

My '67 car's 2.5" pipe tips had to be ovalled using my big 16" long channel-loc's so they wouldn't rub the springs in the stock end position.

That and our 14" rims are b/s'd 3.75" b/c the rear lower shock mount will hit if we go much deeper in. My 17" rims now allow the lower shock mounts to tuck up inside them so we can run a lot deeper dish than stock!!
