hey guys im looking at buying some new shoes for horse

that said im wonder what the limit is for our generation of maros
ive got a 95 z28 and i am looking at weld racing rims the rt-s series

at that here are the rim numbers
RT-S Series Wheel
Size: 17" x 10"
Bolt Circle: 5 x 120mm
Rear Spacing: 7.20"
Black
Offset: +17.78mm
Weld Racing RT-S Series
S71 High Pad Black Wheels
the tire im thinking of is size 275 40/17

10" on the fronts and back all the way around
what im wondering is if this will work or will i have to make some
modifications ... if so what size rim would require no modifications
and if someone does recommend a smaller width can you also give me the
tire size as well =) thank you guys

Bolt spacing is also wrong. Need 5 x 120.65mm or 5 x 4.75". Some people put the metrics on but I wouldn't.

No, those would stick out an inch and a half. I sold my 2002 a couple weeks ago but was going to put C6 Z06 replicas in an 18 x 9.5" with +56mm offset all the way around on it with 275/35 tires. This was supposed to tuck all the way around and not require fender rolling. A 275 is about an inch wider than stock fronts as well. You can get a bigger size on the back but since Z rated tires are typically directional you can't rotate them. With all the same size you can at least rotate front to back.

These are the ones I was going to get. You can get a full set of 17x9.5 for $464 but they've got many many styles.

oh i went on their site and found the right bolt pattern =) ... ill probably go with the 17x9s ( i want them to stick out a little on the side... im keen on that look )

yeah this back spacing is my only question i want high pad so i can upgrade to high performance brakes eventually but the only way i can get high pad
is with -20mm off set or less (-40) or so the back spacing of that is 4.2 so what i want to know is that too much backspacing and offset ...

isnt that pretty much how deep the face is sitting inside the wheel?

You're going to have to step up to an 18" wheel if you want that model to fit right and be inside the fender lips, and still get a high pad. 18x9.5 with 55 offset and 275 tire will completely fill the wells and should still tuck so the fenders don't have to be rolled.

Fourth gen has to run positive offset unless the wheel is like 5" wide. Offset is basically how much the mounting pad is moved from centerline of wheel towards the front of the wheel (positive) or towards the rear of the wheel (negative) from center. Backspace is measurement from rear of wheel to mounting pad.

Not sure why the OP is trying to reinvent the wheel here. 4th gens have been around for 20 years now, it's very well known what will and won't work with a stock car.

I think he's trying to get something that will both max out stock AND fit with an aftermarket big brake kit later. Very hard to do with a 17" wheel.

blue im not trying to reinvent a damn thing, and im not appreciating your attitude toward me. im trying to customize my application to how I WANT it. and i dont care what you think after all i am the one that bought my car not you ....

im picky with wheel size .. and last time i saw 18s on a 4th gen (imo)
they looked over sized. not hacking on that look at all, its just not for
my car.
i do believe that is what im trying to do..
i dont mind rolling out the fender a bit, a few changes are fine for me..
but i like wide wheels i like the wheel face as far back as possible
i wanted like 10" of tire on the ground but if thats impossible
i dont mind 9"

now the ls1 tech page says +38 - +56 offset for the 9" wide
and i was checking weld racing and the high pads are available in +18 offset

i compared the stock specs of the camaro to the wheel i want
and it says i everything was clear except the fender
now i could compensate by rolling out right?
they're actually pretty close
the tire im looking at is
235 40 17
on a 17x9 (offset 18) high pad -
which appears to be everything i want to go with there
i did adjust a bit there.. the they are 1.3" wider than stock
- i do appreciate the advice
