Roof rail weather strip questions

2291 Views 13 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  1stgenCR
1. It appears that there is a hard plastic piece in the corner of the channel holding the weather strip in place. Does that come with the new weather strip?

2. Is that channel generally polished on a restoration? Seems pretty flimsy top polish.

The hard plastic, triangular piece in the corner of the channel does NOT come with new weatherstrip. Its more a part of the channel itself.

The channel itself is stainless, fairly easy to polish since its not a piece that is usually scratched too bad. I always give them a polish on the buffing wheel.
Is there any place to get that corner piece?
I dont think you will find that anywhere except on a parts car.
Thanks.
The blow out clips are available, but the channel itself (much less the corner piece) is not.
You can buy the whole car, New body and all except for the roof rail??? How stupid is that...Crash LOL

Where can I get them, RAD? The blowout clip is the plastic part?
The blow out clip rivets to the rail and is not the plastic piece. It is the rubber coated metal piece at the top of the side window.
Mine are pretty ugly. I have not seen the blowout clips in any catalogues. Where are they available?
You actually can buy the entire roof rail channels from Classic industries. It's in their catalog.
can i get a picture of the plastic corner piece that you are talking about.
If your blow out clips are not to rusted or torn
you can clean them up and recoat them with black tool dip
they come out looking new
