No big deal readers, but I found a small stamp on the side of my SBC block between #1 & #5 cyl...
It reads... A 3H 15... cant find any reference anywhere..? Has anyone else something similar..?
does the 15 mean cyl 1 & 5 side..? just guessing..?

Can you post a picture? Is it stamped, or cast into the side of the block?

From what I’m seeing in the picture it looks like it is a number on the head gasket, and those appear to be the GM lite casting cylinder heads, probably “882” casting numbers

rszmjt, I think you've nailed it... dunno why I didn't see that myself....Doh ! makes the question seem silly now.!
the heads are L31 vortecs. thanks for putting this to rest. .cheers guys.!

LOL scblucam... Fosters was popular down under many many decades ago... until sold out, bought out and shipped overseas...!!??
