Is there a general consensus on how to seal a set of spacers.
I have a SBC with cast aluminum covers, and a pair of 1/2" aluminum spacers, and 1 pair of Fel Pro rubber gaskets. I intend to use stainless steel studs, 12 point stainless nuts, and stainless washers. The motor has solid lifters.

Should I:

1. Use copper RTV to seal the spacers to the heads, then the gaskets between the spacers and the covers.

2. Use copper RTV to seal the spacers to the covers, and use the gaskets between the assembly and the heads.

3. Neither method.

Thanks,
Joe

I have the same spacers on my 350. I wanted to make sure they didn't leak so I used two sets of cork gaskets and rtv on both sides of the gaskets..between the heads to spacer and spacer to cover. Haven't leaked a bit but if your looking for a show look....this might not be pretty enough.
