The fuel pump on my 91 Z28 (305ci LB9)locked up. I towed it to my mechanic and he put a fp for a throttlebody in my mistake (only 14psi) when it needed one for TPI.He realized his mistake after he couldnt get it to run without major hesitation and stalling. He even tried a new computer thinking it may be bad, It wasnt. He said he changed it out to the right part (50psi).He also put a new distributer cap and button on it.It has a new set of Bosch wires. The mechanic said since he had to change the fp again that it would be late before the car would be ready(after 6 pm)so he was going to drop the car off at my house. When I got home the car was there(so he drove it at least 4 miles)I cranked it,it still had hesitation.I backed it out and tried to take it down the block just to test it out. The acceleration was sporadic and got weaker by the second, finaly stalling out about 100 yards from the house.I tried to restart it a dozen times and the best it would do is sputter a few seconds and die. Can anyone shed any light on this problem? I cant get ahold of my mechanic till after Xmas. Thanks

It's obvious your mechanic doesn't know what he was doing with your car. Take it to a mechanic that knows fuel injection.

I hate to ask, but does it have enough gas?
Also did your mech change the fuel filter? A fuel filter change after a pump failure is standard practice.
There is also an in tank strainer that should get changed when a pump is replaced, it usually comes with new pumps.
