Dose any one out there have skid pad # for there car or any cars and if so could you post the year and upgrades you have made or refer me to your site if you have one this goes for all cars not just Camaros I am trying to make a chart of how well different cars handle and how much different upgrades affected them slightly thanx all

I have some old records of my 1985 Z/28 running stock class autocross.
We used Yokohama A008R tires, shaved to 4/32" tread depth, Koni shocks, hollow Trans Am front sway bar which was later used on the IROC models.
All else was stock including engine, springs, rear bar, bushings, wheels, steering etc.
Just 225x50x15" A008R tires, front sway bar and shocks were done.
The cornering G force was measured at 1.03 G's.
I later ran an 89 IROC in stock class that had larger tires with same setup that was probably higher G force. Tires were A008R 255X50X16 on an 8" wide rim.

I got a road and track magazine. It has skid pad figures for almost everything new.
Some old back issues would be nice to compare to for the old camaros!

I have no idea, but both my Nova and the Chevelle handle pretty good! The B-body spindles, stiffer springs and 1 1/4" front sway bar really helped out the Chevelle so much you cannot believe it!

Now, the important question is how can I measure how many g's the cars will pull? Is there some kind of device that does it, or can I do it myself?

i think a g tech will do it

A G tech will do it if mounted sideways. They are coming out with a new model that will blow you away!!!
You will be able to plug in your laptop to it and download about 20 mins of data!
It will have a larger display with some graphing capability. http://www.gtechpro.com/competition.html

Or you can time your car around a 200' circle. That's how R&T does it.
The computer has to allow for the car leaning to come up with a good G number. The G tech available today does not allow any compensation for leaning, the new one may.

How would you go about figuring it if you used the timing around the 200' circle method?

Here's a page describing how to do it.
The top part of the page is about computing cornering weight transfer, look below the circle drawing for the forumla.

this is a very interesting copy of a booklet I bought many many years ago from Guldstrand that got me started with suspension tuning.
It was called "The Trans Am and Corvette Chassis". I think it was written in the early 70's but it is still very good info today!
