Sorry to put this in the General Tech forum but I wasn't quite sure what other forum to put this in. I have an 80 Z/28. Like all the other 80 Camaros it has that standard 85 mph speedo. I was looking at the build sheet for my car and it says "Speedo Gear" under that it is 19NAT T. I was in the local scrap yard last weekend and I found either a 78 or 79 Camaro. In it was a 140 mph speedo. Would that interchange with the one I have or are the ratios different? Dumb question I know but I was curious because I can't stand that 85 mph speedo. Well thanks for any input.

Just swap the speedos - driven gear doesn't change.

I don't know if it will work, the instrument panel was changed after 79 so I would be suprised if it is a direct bolt in. If it is cheap enough it is worth a try.
