Where do you see the greatest gain by going with a high quality spindle; Handling or braking? Trying to decide if it is worth the extra money

If you're referring to the ATS AFX Spindle it improves the camber curve. Similar results of doing the g-mod. The plus is the cheaper availability of brakes since you have to use a C5/C6 brake system with this spindle.
Non of the other "aftermarket" spindles do any good for a first gen.
Of course the downside is you need a 17" or bigger wheel to clear those brakes.

The tall Fatman spindles would help, BUT they are also drop spindles and that usually puts the tie rod end in contact with the wheel or tire!!! :clonk:
Why make a spindle for better handling, then make it so it doesn't work with wide wheels???:noway:

because they aren't designed for handling- they are designed to get the car low, and then marketed as a handling aid. most of them are designed around the smaller 10" 78-88 G body "metric" brakes.

and to eville-
and since when are C5 brake parts cheaper than, say, stock 69 Camaro or C4 Corvette parts?

I'm sure there are cheaper brake options out there, but I'm going to be in for under $550 for NEW C5 Calipers, Rotors, Pads, Steel Braided Lines. Not bad for 12.8" brakes.

do the AFX spindles come with the Corvette bearing assemblies?
if not, how much does that add to the cost?
