hi guys! my 3rd gen steering wheel can be pulled down towards 7 0clock.does anyone have any ideas how this can be solved? it seems to be where it moves to ajust the hight and only in that direction. also what is the rod running down the steering column i know one is the head lamp switch but what is the other? thanks

common problem is that there three bolts below the tilt mechanism that loosen off, this will require dis assembly of the column down to these bolts, the other rod that downs column might be for the ignition switch.

This is a time-consuming thing to fix but you need to fix it or the wheel will continue to get worse. This is a VERY common issue with 3rd Gens and I just fixed my son's steering wheel because of this.

Take pictures of the disassembly--especially how the light switch and associated parts should be assembled.

Also be VERY careful with any of the screws going into aluminum--I stripped 3 and had to helicoil them--NOT fun and it added an extra 2 hours to the repair. Google the issue and you will find websites that show how to tear it down.
