I have a 1969 Z28 Camaro with a black standard steering wheel, and I need to know if anyone knows the correct primer, paint, etc to use to repaint it. I've heard that something has to be applied first for the primer to stick and then apply a primer that's for hard rubber or plastic then apply a lacquer paint. Does this sound like the correct procedure? Thanks, Donnie...

Classic offers a plastic prep and GM plastic parts primer. I used the primer to do my grill silver and it worked well.I havent used the prep, but it seems like the paint wearing off the wheel could be a problem. The primer is in a GM can.
