Hey everyone...I have a bit of an issue. I have a steering box, new upper and lower control arms, new wheels are tires, and just had an alignment. For the most part it's pretty solid. Here's the issue.

Lets say I'm going around a gentle curve at 45mph. I can gently let go and the steering wheel will "lock" at that angle, but shortly after it'll "unlock". Granted, I cover the wheel with my hands to avoid a stupid accident, but I'm pretty sure the wheel should always be free-moving. Any ideas?

More caster? What are your alignment settings?

I'm going to assume power steering. If so you need at least 1 degree of positive caster. I personally would try for as much as possible while maintaining between -1/2 have 0 camber. I would also check the gear box center adjustment to be sure it's not too tight.

Check your subframe mounts, if the sub moves relative to the body, the steering can bind. When you corner the car, you are applying torsion to the chassis.
