It’s done all the time. You will need to change to the RS wire harness which runs forward of the firewall and patch in a “RS diode wire harness” under the dash. In addition, you’ll need to install the limit switches and the relays. Most restoration suppliers sell the conversion kits.
Soon I will release my electronically controlled replacement RS headlight system. It can be installed in an afternoon. The installation is super clean. No limit switches, no RS wiring harness, no relays, and no fabrication required. The new system uses motors very similar to the ones I recently started selling at www.retro-electro.net
