One of the wires came out of the brake light plug yesterday. This is the plug (socket) that the bulb goes in to. Can I disassemble the socket so that I can re-crimp the wire? If so, how do I do it? What are my other options to fix the problem?
from the backside of the socket where the wire enters in you should see a very small tab on the brass conector. you need a very small screwdriver (jewlers)to press this tab in and then the connector should slip right out. you could try to pry the crimp apart and restripping the wire and recrimping or find a new brass connector, gm might be able to help, maybe.
