Hi, I'm wiring up a test ignition to fire up my rebuilt engine. Does the positive side of the coil get a full 12 volts or do I need a ballist resistor? If not 12 volts, what does it need?

Thanks

Twelve volts on startup, after warmup, then 6-9 volts. Can be through a ballast resistor or an external power supply, any constant voltage/constant current linear power supply handling up to 10 amps.

I assume from your post, the engine is on a stand, not in the car, or the car doesn't have wiring...
