i have a 1978 camaro with a 454 30 over and would a th350 work or would a 1.76 powerglide be the best becouse i dont want to change crossmembers.and the car is a street 50% only to kill some 5.0 And strip 50%.

I don't know about the crossmember issue (though I think they are the same), but the 350 is a better street transmission. The glide really bad first gear making it harder to get motivated. The glides are often stronger though, when done with aftermarket parts. Glides are also recommended for cars UNDER 3000 lbs. With a big block though, a 400 would be a better choice.

the guy a trs said the powerglide with 1.76 is for a car with lots of hp and a car over 3000.And my car has a 454 30over with brodix heads bb2x and hv 2001 intake with 200 shoot nos.4.44 rear end gears 9 inch ford.

Do the math, 1.76X4.44 = 7.814. I have loads more 1st gear with my M20 and 3.55's (9.014).

IMHO Glides are for big slicked/trans brake 5.57's stuff. Not for 4.30s. Run the T350 w/o a doubt.

Need intermediate sprag and 5th clutch pak in 3rd to really make these trannies live behind a nasty rat.
