I want to upgrade my 1968 slushbox to a Th350. From what I understand, the TH350 is a direct bolt in replacement. However, I've heard that there are 3 different TH350 lengths. Does anyone know what is the correct length for the TH350 for this kind of swap, and if there are any tricks to identifying the correct tranny?

i know theres a short tail, and long tail...i also know there is 1 with and 1 without lock up...the short tail is most common, and would be the one used in your car...i believe the long tail went into trucks...lock up would be nice for highway driving, but either way will work...short tail has a tail shaft aprox 6 in long, and long is 9 or 10...lock-up has a square plug in the body down bu the pan on drivers side...
