What is the correct Original Spark Plug for a 69 350 hp 396 with Manual trans and A/C. I think it is supposed to be the R43N, but another swears up and down it is the R44. Can any body help on this???

You're right. The P&A 34 (late 1968) lists the plugs as follows:

Group 2.270
1969 Chevelle, Camaro (396) (Exc. H/Per, Sp. H/Per) - (AC-R44N) - 5612321

1969 ALL w/H/Per, Sp. H/Per. (396) - hot plug (AC-R43N) - 5612425

(FYI, the P&A 34 lists the 396 "Exc. H/Per" as the 325 horse, the "H/Per" as the 350 horse and the "Sp.H/Per." as the 375 horse engines...)

Hi Tom,

There is a great refrence section in the back of the CSM (Chassis Service Manual) that lists all the information from plugs, distributors, carbs and more for each different HP and cubic inch rating GM used for the given year...
