I recently bought a 67 camaro with a non original 350 engine and 350 tranny. I have a holley carb with vacuum seondaries. The problem I have is that when I press my pedal to the floor the primary flaps on the carb only open maybe 75-80%. I have a solid linkage (non cable) connecting the rod from the pedal linkage in the engine compartment to the carb linkage. There is no slack or play there. It appears that my pedal sits pretty low to the floor to start with so I'm not getting enough throw to open the carb up 100%. How would you guys recommend I fix it? I can pull the pedal up away from the floor pretty far but it will drop back down when I let go. Maybe the bushing or assembly is worn? Maybe I should buy another pedal assembly? I noticed that the pedal assembly is bolted to the firewall with 2 screws screwed in from the engine compartment side. It's going to be hell trying to get to those 2 bolts off as they are behind the engine. But if that's my only option. I also thought about maybe trying to bend the pedal assembly up a little so I have more clearance from the floor. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch!
