I replaced my tie-rods last night.
Going by the list of torque specs for the front suspension, the adjusting sleeve clamp bolts are supposed to be 130ft\lbs??
That's tight!
I started to torque one and there was no way it was going to make it to 130ft\lbs before the bolt broke. The ends of the clamp were touching.

Am I missing something? I double-checked.

Well, well, well.....

The chart I used was printed out a long time ago, and taped to a shop cabinet. I peeked at it and saw the note... "All are in FT\LBS".
I look at the spec and it says 130ft\lbs. I knew that was far too tight.... it's INCH POUNDS!!
So I double-check the chart here and it says 130in\lbs.

It must have been edited sometime after I printed it to say inch pounds.
:( I should have double-checked in the chassis manual as well.
