When making patches for panels, what guage thickness steel did you use? What kind of steel?
We use a micrometer to match the thickness and gauge of the original piece and if I don't have one lying around I grab one at Lowes...

Great video. Never thought of using ratchet straps. But I have used steel L-brackets tacked to the firewall and floor, using 1/4" all thread to pull them together. You can strategically use this method to draw both close enough to form and screw them together. But your ratchet method seems to work too. I like your thread. Very informative. Thanks

We started on the back half of the car and quickly realized that quarters, braces, and trunk had to happen in concert...

I bought mine from Classic Industries and it is OER. It was OK but not perfect. Front edge that sits up on the dash is a little wavy and the center wing thing that sits above the gauge cluster is not perfect. I would give it maybe a 7.5 or 8 on the 1 to 10 scale. Not sure if there are better ones out there or not.

Well Ol' Tony I see that I am back being banned again.

I watched your new video. The brace in the video was one of the few parts that I did not have to replace. Buy your girl a welding cap so she does not burn her pretty hair.

I used my cocktail shaker to help align the brace you are replacing.
I would show you a photo but I cannot. It is a photo called mini tub 72 in the you know who build thread.

I guess it's time for me to come clean "John". It was indeed I that got you banned. I was tired of you making me look bad with your perfectionism. As you know I try to crank out 36 Camaros per year regardless of quality. I was frankly tired of your lifelong project and your attention to detail. You made me look bad at every turn. I would toss and turn each night as I cried myself to sleep over this.SO I did what any red blooded American Camaro owner would do and I requested that all of your perfect little pictures be taken down. I hope you have learned your lesson. :ROFLMAO:

Yep, Yep, Yep I knew it. One of my favorite Camaro boys turned me in.
You should see my trunk. I relocated the battery. There are no wires that can be seen. None for the battery, tail lights, fuses, on/off switch. I go a little carried away with my wiring harness. I wrapped my wires with nylon loom. I fired up my label maker and covered the labels with clear heat shrink tubing.

I ordered my cloth top. To bad you won't see how not to install one.

I am using Classic Headquarters. I have only test fitted it, but seems to fit well.
