Probably seems silly, but looking at all those well organized boxes had me digging through my stuff.
So I got out a couple of things that some will recognize, while others might not be familiar with
So what are these tools ?

And the easiest one
Gesture Finger Thumb Nail Wrist

First picture looks like screw thread location transfer set. Is there pointed set screws stored inside?

second picture looks like a reverse chamfer tool. Will go through the hole and chamfer the backside.
correct on first …..blind hole spotter. Yes it has several 1/2-13 set screws with a pointed hex or Allen for inserting into let’s say the threaded holes on a gear box.
Sort of correct on the second…..cogsdill makes these in all sizes to deburr drilled holes on the front and back of the hole. Sometimes the backside is inaccessible. The blades are changeable as is the tension on the blade for a variety of different material hardness.

The third is just a grip guide for a huck type of rivet.
so you get the proper length for a given assembly

You got me on the rivet gage. Never saw one before.
Machinist by trade, management now. Most days would rather be back on the floor. Lol. Retirement countdown clock has started so not going to matter soon enough.

I’m thankful you’re going to have to opportunity to retire and I hope you get to do whatever you want to do.
I didn’t fail to plan, but I didn’t plan to split my pension in that plan🙄
I suppose most of my ancient tools will end up in a yard sale. My grandsons aren’t interested in much of anything from the 1900s 😆

Yeah, what ever I want to do that doesn’t piss off the old lady or I’ll end up in your style of plan. Lol

I have a couple nephews that are gearheads. They will end up with most everything when we’re done with it. But I intend to use it all up before that time comes.

My advice regarding retirement is your company can reset your retirement clock forward at any time, so plan for retiring early just in case. After a merger you are most at risk as corpirations like to shed to most tenured salaries and expodentially growing pensions.

Sage advice. I’ve been on the winning end of such changes 7 times in my career. 7 f’in times! A couple of them bad blood baths. Seen more of it than I care to. Because of that, we’ve prepared well. Rather leave on my terms but if they throw me out tomorrow it won’t impact our plan. Yes,
making it hard to stay.

Hijacked Worn Out’s thread enough. Doesn’t anyone have a tool we can look at?

Here are a few.

These two are probably obvious but does anyone care to guess what application Snap-On originally sold them for? (I never used them for their intended purpose, but have been a lifesaver for other uses.

Oh that’s a handy on for certain……
Like putting the screw for the condenser in a distributor.
It looks like both slot head and Philips head.
Or you can just cuss when you drop it like I usually do!

Oh, you machinists with the fancy tools. It must be nice.

Let us see some homemade tools and guess what they are used for.

A piece of metal with two roll pins. The vice grip turns the tool.

Rout-a-burr, lol I see these everyday. Don’t know what the little hammer is for exactly?
They gave me a triangle file that had all the teeth ground off, pressed into a piece of aluminum round stock. “ this is your deburr knife, and over there is the first aid cabinet with bandaids”
