hello everyone, can you guys please help me ID a tremec 5 speed tranny. Its for a killer deal but want to make sure it could be installed in my 68 with current m20 Muncie. The guy is saying its coming off a 99 mustang but from what I found its a GM tranny. The id is;

From what I found it is a Borg Warner designed T45 tranny. The article said that it should have a 10 spline, which is the weak spot, as a 500 hp car will shear the shaft. Needs to be updated to a 26 spline. Not sure if it will bolt up to a GM SBC or BBC.

Tremec (Transmission Technologies Corporation - aka TTC) acquired BorgWarner's Light-Duty Transmission Division around 1997. While the T-45 remained virtually unchanged, T-45 units produced by TTC bear the Tremec name as do all OEM replacement parts.
