Here's a question...

I bought an underdash courtesy light harness to put in my 67. The car did not have these lights originally, but I think they look cool, so I bought the harness. My wiring diagram shows that there should be a plug above the driver's side kick panel for this harness (the harness also has the same plug on it). I couldn't find any unused plug in that area. So I guess my question is....if the car did not originally have these lights, was there no plug for them in the dash harness? I can't imagine them custom making the wiring harness for each individual car based on such a subtle option.

Justin,
If you look in the various catalogs (Classic Ind., Rick's 1st Gen, etc..) you will see that they sell Rear Body Light harnesses.

The underdash courtesy plug is part of the rear body harness.
If you car was not originally equipped with the underdash lights, then your original harness will not have the L-shaped connector just above the driver's side kick panel.

Now then, as you can surmise, it would be very easy to wire it up anyway.
Just tap into the wire/s that control the dome light (or sail panel lights if you have deluxe interior). This should get you underdah courtesy lights working.

Cheers,
David

ps..where did you get your underdash lights?

My car had them, and I have the connector, but no lights.

67LT1,

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I just wasn't sure if the plug was there and just wrapped up in the electrical tape or if it had never been included in my car. Yeah, it will be easy to wire up anyway. I'll probably see if I can get the L-shaped connector and splice it in like it would have originally been done.

I got the underdash light harness and the light brackets from Year One. I think it was like $30 bucks or so for the harness and the brackets??? I can't remember. I do remember that the brackets are not included in the harness, they are a separate part.
