I need some help. I am a Mopar guy so don't know the GM stuff. I am not here to trash anyone or start arguments I just need some advice. My wife's dad still has the 68 Z28 he bought new. It is in very bad condition but all there. It is ALL matching numbers. He already has new parts, all GM. New full quarters, front clip almost everything the cars needs. How much would this car be worth if it is completely redone, Acid dipped and start form there? He wants to give her the car if we restore it. I work two jobs one of them in a body shop. I can do the car but is it worth saving? I think it is. If it were not a matching number car I may not be willing to do this much work to save it But I hate to see it rot.

Bechya bippy it's worth doing. But if you really don't want to, I'm sure there's a few of us here that would take it off your hands!

All original '68 Zs can be worth a pretty penny. In #1 show winning condition I have heard of them going for $35,000+ at auction and in trader magazines. In your average #3 driver condition you could still pull down $15,000 or so. Good luck!

Thanks for the help guys, I have a 70 Challenger with the 426 Hemi SO I had NO idead at all what the Z is worth. I am going to go ahead and restore her. There is also a matching number 69z in my town that might become available soon. If it does become for sale I will post the phone number on here so somebody can get it. Also, I will post mine on here if I "bail out" on the 68. I wish I knew more about these cars. I may need help from you guys to get it right. GM is a lot different from I am used to seeing. I have a lot to learn. I will be back for help.
Thanks to all that replied.
