What do the Vintage Air Gen IV users out there think of the electronic heater control valve that comes with the system. I'm suprised I haven't seen any comments on how loud this thing is. At first, I thought something was hooked up wrong since it sounded like a relay click x1000 when I turned the key on. Vintage Air is telling me this is completely normal. I just can't believe this valve is that loud!

That solenoid is loud, 12v power closes it.
The problem I had was the darn thing wouldn't open like it is supposed to.
I took it apart and found nothing wrong with it.
Put back together and it work a couple times then stopped again.
I made sure to have the arrow pointed in the correct direction.
Ended up putting in a manual shut-off valve.
......Open in winter
......Closed in summer
Problem solved!
Still able to control temps too.

You can use a Heater Shutoff Valve that came on several cars and can be found in a good parts store.
I just used a brass ball valve with some 5/8 hose barb ends on it.
Found it at the hardware store.
Not much for "Bling" but the original valve that VA supplies is ugly anyway.
My "Underhood" look is clean and functional, so I am OK with it.

As suggested, I ended up ditching the Vintage Air control valve. For the other guys that run into this; I found a basic manual control valve at Advance Auto Parts. It's made by four seasons and the part number is 84706.
