Looks like a restamp, characters are crooked and I don't see the OE broach marks on the deck.

But then, I'm not an expert compared to others here.

i looked at the block in person and it has the broach marks,and the old head gasket stain etc.you could tell the block had been sitting for years with no machine work.i compared this block to a V0212DZ motor that was on Ebay recently that went for 2800.00 and the letters and numbers matched up the same as i compared them side by side.this block is an LA block explaining the vin nmber on the pad for this time period. the block is about 2 hours away from me.i wish i would had remembered to take some pictures myself when i was inspecting the block in person.the picture is one the owner of the block sent me.sorry guys,i was just going with what i had.wishful thinking.

I would like to see the VIN stamping. The whole pad.
