I have a 2001 camaro which I had to have the serpentine belt replaced it was fraying along with the tensioner and idler pulley. The work was done, now, there is massive amounts of water gushing out behind the serpentine belt. Could there have been damage done with the repairs, or can you tell me what might be behind the belt, the water pump or could it be a gasket? I looked and didn't see any hoses leaking. In fact, I added water when the engine was off and it was dripping behind the belt. Any help would be appreciated. I sure hope that the damage wasn't deliberate in order for me to pay more as this was a new mechanic I have never used before, and I left and come back after the work was done. Thanks, Caroline

Usually, it is a simple swap and life goes on.
There is a weep hole behind the water pump pulley for a visual indication if the water pump seal is leaking, then a replacement is needed.
If massive amounts, could the mechanic used the pump as a fulcum point for the tensioner and broke the snout?
Picture?

Welcome, Caroline. have another pair of eyes look at it.
