I'm replacing the water pump on my car (original 1969 350) and I'm drawing a blank, do I need anti seize or sealer on the bolts? Also, the bottom two bolts had 14mm heads and the top two had 9/16th heads, Is there a reason for that, or were the 14mm bolts incorrectly installed sometime in the car's past? I didn't think they used metric bolts in 1969.

If I remember correctly I put silicone around the threads. I think some of the bolt holes go into the water jacket area. Yea I don't think they used metric then. Go to the hardware store and get a matched set of stainless bolts. Also don't forget to get a set of wp gaskets. Maybe they come with the wp.
