so i have a 68 camaro with a big block. and getting ready to buy brakes originally it had disc brakes in front and i installed a ford 9" with discs in the rear but i never really thought it stoped all that well. so now i am thanking about buying wilwood 14" forged narrow superlite 6R in the front and 13" forged narrow superlite 4R in the rear and a wilwood tandem masterCylinder with the proportioning valve and a 7/8s bore. i was thinking about keeping the brakes manual because having such little vacuum. What is eveybodys thought or any other recommendations?

Depends on what size wheels you are planning on running? what are you using the car for? Street, Track, autoX?

Go vacuum first with a helper can, cost effective and should do the job. . . .works fine on my 69 BB with stock front Disc and Jegs rear disc set up. Stops as well as my 99, 8' difference from 60 MPH between the two!!! Surprising to me!!!

Make sure you don't have the Old style Big flange on the 9", it will narrow your brake choice, I think wilwood only has drag brakes that fit that flange. Bear has more options for that style if needed.

I have a Ford 9" with Wilwood brakes. My axle has the big Ford new style tapered bearings. The axle offset is 2.5 inches. The model is 14010012R.
The rotors are 14". When I bought the brakes, the 14 inch was cheaper than the 13 inch. Crazy.

Make sure the brakes you choose will fit your wheel. Wilwood has a diagram to help you. Don't be alarmed, the diagram below is for my front brakes.

Cut out a piece of cardboard that is twice the length of the longest dimension on the diagram. Insert the cardboard inside your wheel to make sure the brakes will actually fit.

I was thinking about 18" wheels going for the pro-touring look 18x9 in the front and 18x11 in the rear. The ford 9" is the new big bearing with a 2.50 offset.

Go with a full floater rear axle or you will have knock back. You will still have knock back from the front but it will be driveable that way. Better is to install Speed Tech front spindles with Corvette unit bearings.
