#3885067-EE List-3246 dated 724. Looking to find out what this actually came on and if it is sufficient enough to use with a stock 69 302 engine.

It is a Holley 4150 from a '66 396/375 or 425/427. Should work as it is the same model # but could be a hassle to hook up as PCV/vacuum taps will be in different locations.

Thanks. There are two tubes coming off the base plate on the passenger side of the carb. One at the rear mounting hole is larger for PCV and the other is smaller for the distributor vacuum if I'm correct. There is one on the passenger side front of the base plate and that has a hose going to the dashpot. Does this sound correct for what I need?

I believe it is. My 4346 is for 69 427/425 or 396/375, and the vacuum takeoffs are as you described. (Except for the dashpot, I don't know what that is) I have one on the front of the baseplate, at a 45 degree angle that goes to the vacuum secondary.

Point is that your 3246 sounds like my 4346--and it makes sense, since the applications are identical.

I know that in 69,the 4346(396/375) and the 4053 (301/290)only differed by the metering vent. 4346-yes, 4053-no. Therefore you can be relatively sure you can use 3246 for 69 302/290.
Long way to go to justify that last statement!!

Unreal...the dashpot , at least that's what I have heard it called, I'm referring to is the small diaphram unit that is in front of the secondary diaphram on the passenger side which looks to be choke related. Also has the metering vent on top of the front bowl. I bought this carb to use since the 4053's are unreal in price. If I could find someone that would consider a trade for a 4053 I would go that way. My carb has been professionally rebuilt by a gentleman in Washington state and has the anti-surge power valves installed as well.

Actually your carb is very rare. The old holley manual I got into lists it as 1966 Chevelle only L-78 and L-72. It is the same size as a Z carb but it is not the same. The metering is not right for a 302 and it has the mixture distribution tabes in the boosters.

Rare doesn't mean desirable though. What would something like this go for price wise and would it be worth the trade for a 4053 if someone wanted it?

You have it exactly right. If you can find some one restoring a 66 L78 it's worth a fortune otherwise a Z carb is much more valuable.
