Taking a 454 block to the machine shop this week. What should I expect the bill to be for:
1. Cleaning\checking
2. cam bearings\freeze plugs.
3. Sleeve one cylinder.
4. Bore .030.
Am I forgetting anything?

You probably looking at maybe $150-300 USD.

Don't forget balancing, $125-$200, its well worth the money spent.

Everett...let me know where your machine shop is so I can start taking my work to him !
Our prices are as follows:
Clean Block (looks new when done) $60
Install 1 sleeve $100 labor plus $25 sleeve
Bore and hone .030 $160
Install cam bearings and freeze plugs $40
Cam bearings and plugs (parts) $35

That totals out at $420

Wade,
Prices will vary depending on your local economy, but I bet mine are pretty typical on the East coast. And also remember, just like everything else in life...you get what you pay for.
