I have all stock equipment,I am in the process of getting a 12 bolt posi rear w/ between 4:11 and 4:88 gears, and a 6 speed out of a newer z-28,and I'm working on building my engine to a minimum of 400hp,I hope this info helps a little
I've got a somewhat similiar setup, just without the 6-speed (which would be nice...). I ordered myself a set of custom springs for $210 a pair, and I got to choose the spring rate I wanted. The most important part was I had the lower leaf extended towards the front, much like the Hotchkis and Chrysler leaf springs. They work very well for reducing wheehop. Most guys don't even need Cal-Tracs or traction bars.
hey silver69, have you got those springs on yet? im really interested in how it turns out. if its all good, i might be taking a trip to renton here soon.( before racing season, that is)
I'm supposed to get them on, or before the 12th (I told him I have a race the next day, which isn't true, I just really want them!). Anyway, I don't have a gas tank (old one had holes in it) in my car yet, so I wouldn't be able to lay down some rubber to really see how they work. But, at least, you could come down and check out the quality and design. Starting the 12th, I have two weeks of free time. Let me know if you'd like to come down.
