i was thinking of ordering new wheel for my 67,i have 235/60r15bfg,s for the front and 255/60r15 for the rear.i was looking at american racing wheels hopsters, the fitment guide says 15x8 with 4.5 bs and 15x7 with 3.75bs or15x8 with 3.75bs .this seems to conflict with what i have read,i am confused and was wondering what you guy,s thought.this is my first post and i value your opinion.:
A '67 came stock w/ 14" x 6" steel wheels w/ 3.75" b/s so if you put a 7" on the front, it will stick out an inch and at full droop, the lip chrome will cut the roll of the front tires!!
I think you will want that 4.5" backspacing all the way around
but use the search function and see what others have had luck with
I think I have seen on here some with 4" backspacing on a 7" wide wheel and 4.5" on an 8" wide wheel
but don't quote me on that, just search and you shall find
You are gonna want a minimum 4" BS up front on a 15x7. I have a 4.25" BS on my 15x8 with 255's on rear and and get a slight rub on wheel well trim on a hard bump. If the trim wasn't there the rears would not rub.
thanks for the replys,i had a change of plans after looking at some of your rides i decided to go with 17" eagle alloys 211 instead.
