we are building a 1969 camaro with a 396 engine in it and the customer wants us to put a m21 4speed trans in it. dose any know the exact posistion for the shifter hole and how big is it. any info would be great,the shell is on our body rack. the subframe is out.

Depends on type of shifter used, but I imagine you will be using the Hurst Pro; in which case, you will require the shifter mechanism mounting bracket which bolts to the last 3 triangulated holes on the tyrannies tail housing. Mount the shifter mechanism to the bracket and with the engine and transmission in the car the shifter handle will be centered exactly in the middle of the hole.

Once the hole is cut in the tunnel you can tack weld the manual shifter housing in place. NOTE that the hole cut in the tunnel is approx 1/2" smaller then the opening for the shifter housing.
