Hi there!

I do live in Norway, and looking for an LY6 engine, complete to put in my 67.
A Crate is to expensive, so looking for a used one.

Since it is impossible to find here, i must import.

Where do you buy them?
And what is normal to Pay at a wreckingyard?

My only option for now is eBay, and there they are about $2500


Im using JetCarrier to ship to Norway, so i have a NewJersey adress in my name!

Lars, are you planning on keeping the VVT? If not, you could look at LQ4/LQ9's as well. That would open up your 6.0l options. I found my LQ9 on eBay, but it was local so I was able to inspect it and pick it up in person.

And also like the L92 heads.

Gives me the ability to drop on an LSA Supercharger down the road.

That's probably about right on eBay depending on mileage. You could certainly find one cheaper through a local search, but that doesn't help you over there.

You could try car-part.com and enter a year/make/model that had an LY6. Search for engines and it should cross reference all available LY6's. Just leave out your zip code in your search. If nothing else it will show you the price range for various mileage engines.

I paid $4500 for a complete 20,000 mile LY6 / 4L80 combo.
I like your idea with the LSA Supercharger.

Any of the LKQ yards here in the states will give warranties for 3-6 months on most engines/trannies..though I'm sure international freight is going to be tough for a return

Or will they send me a ****edUp Engine, since the know they newer see it again!

A warrantie is worth **** to me, since a return is out of the question.
I will probably find a cheap one an rebuild anyway. Then i can only blame myself, if it fails.

Im feel more safe paying $2500 on a system that i trust.

There is a risk anyhow.

If you're going to rebuild it anyways, might be worth a look. I don't know the guy, or the engine even though he sounds local to me.

I havent been here for months!

But i bought a L99 Engine this Summer. (128.000 miles)
I bought it on fleaBay from a Company.

no transmission, no wiring, no ECU. $1600

I bought a Haltech Engine Management
Tremec T56 Magnum
and an LS9 Clutch with Flywheels for 6-bolt Crank.
LS3 Intake Manifold

I have removed the VVT Stuff, and installed an LS1 Camshaft with LS2 Timing.

Im building the wiring from scratch, and planning on a DynoRun this winter.

When im familiar with the ECU, im tearing down the Engine and see how it looks. New bearing, Bolts, Pistons. And the stuff needed.

Whaiting for the Price for a Couple of Garrett Turboes.
(have not decided yet.)

Brent, he might have switched from a single bolt cam to a 3 bolt type.
