Hi ! i can buy these wheels, i have a 68 camaro with front disc brakes (that will be upgraded) and rear drums. I read lots of you mount wheels with 4.5 backspacing. SO i wonder if these wheels will look right ...
Please tell me what you think.

These wheels have a General Motors 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern. Two of the wheels are 16x7 (4" backspacing)with 225/60-16 tires, and two are 16x8 (4 3/4" backspacing) with 265/50-16 tires.

That's a sweet Camaro Marc.
It looks like you have ralley wheels on there now, which I tend to prefer anyway.
I'm not sure about the fronts, but from what I've been reading up on lately, the rear 16x8 4-3/4 should fit but the 265/50 series tires might rub a little. (You may need to message the inner fenderwells a bit.) Hopefully someone else will chime in with better help.

i've got 16X8 GTA wheels on my Nova- don't know the backspace measurement, sorry- with 255/50/16 tires all around. on my Nova, that's about as big as i'd dare to go- and i actually rolled the rear wheelwell lip a bit. the rears don't rub at all, but they look awfully close at a few points. don't know how a Camaro compares to my nova, wheelwell-wise, but another centimeter of width might be a little bit much.

thanks guys

yes i know i have nice rally wheels on ...
But if i swap brakes then i need to swap wheels...
and i don't know.

Have to make my mind.

The owner of the wheels say they are taken out of a 1969 firebird 400, which is quite close to a camaro 1 gen

I love the look of the Torque Thrust II's on first gen Camaros. Are you going with bigger than stock brakes? Because I know the stock 67-68 front discs will fit with 14x6 ralley wheels.

Also Baer makes a smaller sized front disc conversion that fits the original 14-inch wheel sizes too.

Just additional options if you want to keep the ralley wheels.

i still have some time before auction ends on these wheels.
I think about upgrading my brakes see brake topics. with C4 or C5 brakes.

Which backspacing figures will fit nicely my camaro?
aren't these 225/60/16 too big for my car? i now have 225/60 15.

For once I can help a European colleague !
I have a set of wheel vintiques rally wheels on my 67 camaro. The dimensions are 8X16 at the rear with a 4.5 in backspacing and the 255/50/16 fit perfectly. The surprise came for the front tires, which are 225/50/16 on 7X16 with 4 in BS. They rub a little on serious potholes.
You can have a look here:

For the fronts, the best setup is probably a 16x8 with 4.5 or 4.75" backspacing. The 16x7 with 4" backspacing will probably put the tire out close to the fender lip like French 67 said. Nice looking car French 67. Those 255/50/16's look great in the back. That's what I'm going to use on my car. Which tires are those on the car?

you are right about the front 4" backspacing..
I won't buy these wheels.
Furthermore my car sits lower on front then Fench 67 camaro.
I love the stand of my car now as well.
eventually I 'd like to keep my 15" wheels, so i'll try to figure out how if there is any possibilities to install 12" rotors C5 calipers behind my wheels.... if you know of that tell me.

Otherwise there is still a cheap Torq II set here on the ads. These are 4.5" backspacing but wheels are 16X7 with 225 all around.
I'd beter like 255 at the rear.

So keep my wheels for now.

Thanks

There's a good chance the 255 tires will not be at ease with the 7" rim width. 225 is about as big you can get with a 7" tire especially in a 45 or 50 height.
The tires I use on my 67 Camaro are BFG comp TA ZR in 255/50/16.For the fronts, they are the same BFGs in 225/50/16.Actually, I don't need a ZR tire, but I like the way they look...
