Someone told me awhile back that the 396 cars had the container mounted on the wheel well and small blocks on the radiator support, is that true?

I'm looking at my wheel well and I don't see a hole pattern drilled out for the container but I do see one on the radiator support underneath the voltage regulator. Is that hole pattern drilled out automatically on the support?

I'm just confused on where to mount it correctly. I have a standard grill, no PS, smog or A/C. Would it be correct to mount it on the radiator support?

The "standard" location for all cars was the radiator support. It got moved to the wheel well if the Rally Sport option was ordered.

Tony, do you have an Assembly Manual?

Thank you. If fit nicely once I got the right screws. One problem I had was my wiring harness was routed incorrectly between the radiator and support instead of under the lip of the support, that's why it seemed odd.
