I'm just getting started on my wipers that don't work on my 69. Here's what I have so far: electrical test with ignition switch on (engine not running) & wiper motor off = 12 volts at all three wiper motor posts and the same with ignition switch on & wiper switch on, but still the wipers don't work. Can someone give me a step by step procedure to complete the troble shoot & fix? If this involves removing the wiper motor, please make sure I get enough information to do it successfully. Thanks, Charlie

The wiper alwas has +12 on I think the yellow wire. The switch grounds one of the other two terminals to activate it. You're measuring +12 on the others through the resistance of the motor itself. It's common for the switch to not be grounded to the dash and cause this problem.

I ran a new ground on the wiper motor, to no avail. I'll do the same on the wiper switch to see if that will do the trick. My switch wires (left to right) are: dark blue, light blue and black. Both the light blue & black wires have 12 volts, but the left dark blue wire is dead. Any chance the left dark blue wire is for the washer? If it is, I don't really care about that right now. I just want the wipers to work. I'll post back once I have grounded the wiper switch. Thanks, Charlie

KevinW, I must say, with your direction on grounding and the wiring schematic, I was able to bring the wiper motor back to life! I have only had this 69 for a couple of months, but it was a real joy to hear and see the two stage wipers moving once the ground connection at the motor & switch was restored. Thanks a lot.
