I need some suggestions for the wiring under the hood. I am using the AAW classic update on my '69, with an electric fan and Vintage Air. I am looking for a "clean" way to mount all the relays and hook up the positive connections. Please offer your suggestions and or photos of how you did yours. ZZ/4 crate engine by the way! Thanks, Kevin

I was going to mount the horn relay and voltage regulator (and eventually fan relays when i put in an electric) on a plate and mount it on the inside of the fender much in the same way the RS relays on a 67 mount.

Which relays do you need to mount, and how big are they? The horn relay in the Update is under the dash, so that's taken care of. No voltage regulator. I assume you need a fan relay and/or controller, but I don't have A/C so I really don't know what those take.

I ran the fat orange wire for fan feed with the front lighting harness, so it runs on the left inner fender, across the front under lip of rad support, and behind the battery. I am sticking with my mechanical clutch fan for now, but have the wire in case I need it later.

Someone here just mounted a set of relays on a swing down panel for the front inside driver fender, I will see if I can find the thread. You could do the same thing, except on the passenger side next to the battery, and it might not even have to swing up to be hidden.

I took the big gage red wire that charges the battery from the alternator to the starter terminal and ran it up from the starter with the engine harness, then across the bottom of the heater box cover (using an OE style hook like used for the heater wire on top of the box, across the top of the passenger inner fender (in the space under the fender, so it is hidden), then out to the alternator with the lead for the alternator warning light. I think it's very clean, and because I wrapped with the OE style vinyl wrap, it all looks factory.

If you have specific circuits you're looking to route cleanly, let us know which circuits and we can offer input.

Eric, I have two small relays and a circuit breaker for the Vintage air, and one small relay and circuit breaker for the electric fan. I can take a picture tomorrow and post. I like the idea of a fold down panel to mount everything, but it would need to be on the passenger side fender. I ran my orange fan wire exactly the way you did, but haven't terminated anything.
