I recently bought a 69 Camaro Yenko clone with a big block. I was told it has a 454 that came out of a 77 something. Anybody know how I can figure out what it is and what it may have come out of. It seems to be stock except a mild cam, 750 Holley, headers and runs well. Any advice would be welcome.

if it came out of a 77 era most likely a truck/suburban etc since 74 was the last yaer of a big blk in a car...you can check for date code on blk or go to front pad and get the suffix code and decode it that way....the suffix will tell you what exact vehicle it come out of/trans/air/pump etc........www.hardcoreparts.ca

Oh I just hate to step on a thread like this...But I lived for nearly 10 years with a Monte Carlo I bought used in 76... 454... T400... posi... full guages... even duals with a pair of Y pipes and 1 ugly cat.
It was a 1975 model, no lie!
