Fred:1975 all over again kinda:sad: , I finally decide to put my car back to street trim to enjoy, and I get it done ,what happens gas goes from 2.28 26 months ago when I started to 4.50 for premium todayGeeeze, it's 1975 all over again. That's what we said about our BBC's because OPEC and the oil companies raised the price of premium to 57 cents a gallon!
Ya know Baldy, I could just say the hell with it and live as I've always done, but screw the bastards! I drive NOT an inch farther than I have to. And I can afford $20 a gallon. (Completely OUT OF DEBT) But I'll be damn if I don't do my part as a responsible American to do what it takes until the OIL MEN are out of Washington! GrrrrrrrFred:1975 all over again kinda:sad: , I finally decide to put my car back to street trim to enjoy, and I get it done ,what happens gas goes from 2.28 26 months ago when I started to 4.50 for premium today,ha well Its not going to stop me from having fun ,just limits my trips to the store and other short jaunts,in the Tahoe ,I am 70 + miles a day ,but my daily driver is a Buick v-6 ,@ 23 miles a G ,so not to bad ...:hurray: Happy motoring
I don't know who you're characterizing as the OIL MEN, but whoever they are, they have absolutely nothing to do with the price of oil, nor does anyone else in Washington, nor is there anything they can do about it. It won't be any different a year from now, either. But I'll be damn if I don't do my part as a responsible American to do what it takes until the OIL MEN are out of Washington! Grrrrrrr

Well John, last I checked, they would be the President AND the Vice President.I don't know who you're characterizing as the OIL MEN, but whoever they are, they have absolutely nothing to do with the price of oil, nor does anyone else in Washington, nor is there anything they can do about it. Well, ya know Jerome, maybe we need to start supporting more parties in this country. Did you ever take that online test to see which presidental candidate was closest to your views? I did, and their mascot didn't have four feet. And did you see that other email going around about the 500 and some-ot people in DC that have made every single rule that we have to live by? Real easy for you and me to fix. Just vote for someone else! Hey! What's the point of a 6 banger vert when there's still BBC out there looking for a home?Boy Fred you opened a can of worm's ,who in Washington that would be, D.C not State ,Bush and all his OIL Buddies,Disclaimer note don't come back at me I'm neather Donkey nor Elephant,Just Happy Motoring on ![]()
I agree with John on this one. It is a global issue. Fueled by speculation. The only thing I am sure of is when the market corrects and crude comes back down (just like real estate did), the oil companies will definitely not lower the price of gas. There will be some hocus pocus mumbo jumbo about why the price of gas is separate from the price of a barrel of crude. The oil companies will be taken to task on Capital Hill, they will sit polite and contrite under the grilling and then all have a good laugh as they fly back home on the Exxon GV private jet.I don't know who you're characterizing as the OIL MEN, but whoever they are, they have absolutely nothing to do with the price of oil, nor does anyone else in Washington, nor is there anything they can do about it. And THAT I agree with you on. It's already started. Last week a 'talking head' (you know, the heads on TV that for the last year or so have been saying that gas is going up) said that because Americans are driving so LITTLE that refineries have LESS stock! Yes! Less! And of course the price has to go UP!I agree with John on this one. It is a global issue. Fueled by speculation.
