I never thought I'd want mud flaps on my Camaro but I'm tired of the road rash (what's worse, road RAGE or road RASH?...) There has to be a way to "rig" flaps that can be taken off and on?? I'm not excited about drilling into the wheel wells but I don't know any other way. Is it possible to "hang" flaps on screws just tight enough to keep them on but can be taken off? or even "snapped on" in some way. In my youth I had them on an old Torino and they looked pretty cool back in the day. first mudflaps; what's next? c.b. radio installation??

3M UHB tape. They will never come off and if it does, paint comes with it.
If you decide to use screws, use stainless steel, marine grade, Series 316 and dope the holes with Dow Corning 3145 RTV. It does not attack the metal as regular Home Depot $3 RTV, the smelly type.

I just ordered the snap-in mud flaps (see Mike #5)
I'm also thinking about Clear Bra applied under the body line, behind the rear tires,
... and nose, front valance and front spoiler.

My opinion:
If I had what you have on the rear quarter all the time I would for sure do mud flaps. Mud flaps where very popular in the 60's and 70's and that is the only way you are going to protect that area. I don't have on my Camaro and doubt that I would need them with where I would drive it and have driven it. To me they are like putting speakers on the package tray. Not original, but still "era corrrect." Looks like YOU need them. So I would.
I do have on my Mustang.
Do this. Walk through a show with a buddy of yours. Look at 3 cars with mud flaps. Then when you get away from them, ask him if the cars had mud flaps. Most of the time they go un-noticed. Hope this helps.

I don't like the 3m Bra. It looks like a big piece of Scotch tape on your car. Maybe it will hide better here down low with the body ridge hiding it ????

We went through this "mud flap" issue bout a month or so ago... many were undecided at that time...but, think, I too will invest in a pair now.:yes:

I put clear mud flaps on. A guy at a corvette show had them on. They don't take away from the looks and appearance of car. Use screw holes for the fender trim. I found them in a corvette book and trimmed them to fit nicly. I keep mine on all the time. The corvette guy had small screws
that were studs sticking out were he could take them off by using a small nut driver. These are like clear plexaglass.

I have been using them for years. I am a guy that really does not like to change the appearance of the car. I have no spoiler ,mono leaf springs, clear mud flaps , and a custom radio that is a real camaro AM radio but inside is a AM/FM radio that when you pull the one knob the inside lights comes on for digital display. It also has a remote casette deck that you plug in the back into a serial port wired and away you go. I did not mount this under the dash for appearance reasons and just plug it in and place it on the console when using

About 15 feet away or going down the road they aren't really visable.
Depending on tire size and preferance you can cut them for each individual app.
I also have a wide set for the rear when i go for freeway driving i clip them on temporarily to the bottom of the existing ones.
Once you get the idea you can come up with all kinds of applications.

Thats what I did also, this way there is no damage to the car. If you use plain black ones they kind of blend in with the tires and you don't notice them as much.
