Price was 20K but he came down to 18K firm.. He was going to keep the wheels that are on the car but I got him to agree to throwing both sets of wheels in on the deal... The current wheel package is new 15x8" front and back with new 255-60-15 tires and new beatuy bands with new center caps.. Car also comes with the original 14x7 rallies with original beauty bands and derby center caps...

It sounds like this car is priced on the high end...

Thanks so much for all the help and keep the advice coming... I may make a decision by tomorrow..

James..

james that car will be a super nice driver with some more money put into it to get it back close to original.it would be an easy project since the body is good.plan on another 6-7k unless you are thinking paint job. the car deserves a new owner to bring it back! go for it not he will get 18k for it from somebody else. good luck let us know if you decide to buy it.

Thanks for the response guys...

I have already offered 14K cash and tried to go from there but he kind of got mad from my understanding through friends.. He was keeping the current wheel setup but I did get him to throw those in on the deal. I may could sale the current wheel setup since it is all brand new and recoup some cash.. Maybe sale the new automatic console kit with shifter and new gages and recoup a little more..

I would be broke if I did get the car so it would be in my shop getting cleaned up and taking a ton of pictures and asking a ton more questions.. 6-7K would come over time and eventual paint back to the original color of course with the original black vinyl top.

I got the loan I needed from the credit union to make up the difference in amount for the cash I am lacking so that is done and sitting in the account and now I just have to either take the leap or wait and see if something better comes along..

Thanks guys and I am very close to the decision..

oh yeah, I love the car in the link listed above but 69 is my favorite and that car is 10.5 hours away.. Great price though from the pictures and description.

This is a lot of money!!!!

Just wanted to update and let everyone know that I did buy the car today..

I checked the hood spring and it has 28 coils like the SS hood is suppose to have so that is one more clue toward this car being a real RS/SS car.. Made me happy to count those 28 coils...

I will get pictures up in the next week or so as I start cleaning and such..

Still need to get the rear code and such.. Feels like a 331 gear to me going down the road and looking at the tach.

Anyway, thanks for all the helps and now comes the love for her..

Thanks..

I paid 18K for the car and I consider it a fair deal.

Came with the original 4 speed console and gauges

Plus an automatic console and horseshoe shifter plus all new factory style gauges and wiring harness and a new shifter cable plus wiring books

new battery tray and bolts (the battery is currently mounted in the trunk)

new SS emblems

Plus a set of 14x7 rally wheels with derby caps and beauty bands..

What do you think about the price? And be honest guys, I can take it..

Thanks..

James..

james i also think you got a nice car at a fair to good price considering that it is a probably a true rs ss car.you won't regret buying it and you will learn a ton of info on these cars from this site..the guys on this site are true enthusiasts and know these cars in and out and look forward to giving you all the help they can. clean it up and try to bring back as close to original as you can afford. one day you will stand back and look at it and say sweeeet! i know i did!

James ,if you don't post some more pictures soon, We're going to think you are not happy with what you bought. Way to go , looks like a nice buy

Checked the rearend code off the 12 bolt last night..

BL 0913G1

3.08 non-posi built September 13th by Detroit Gear on 1st shift..

I am learning guys..

When you get on her she spins posi. but when she is jacked up and you rotate one wheel while holding the other wheel she will still spin? I am going to pull the rearend cover and change the fluid and know for sure.

Also found the original connectors and wiring for the RS backup lights while cleaning the trunk. Has a hole with a green wire (I think that is the right color) coming through the trunk pan next to a support on each side that connects with a connector on the factory harness.

I am going to try and get pictures up this weekend..

Already put my weld Draglites on the front.

Thanks..

Crank pulley is a 3956664CF and original to the car and I'm sure the water pump pulley is also but all I could read right now is 3 something but it is a single groove.. Here are a couple of pictures from the day I bought it..

has the original 2 piece rotor on the driver's side front, brake porportioning valve on the driver's side subframe also.. So far the RS/SS is looking good..

Trying to decode the wheels but only three of them appear to be Kelsey wheels.. one has DG on it and the other two have X something stamped on it but can't make it out good..

what is a good way to get these numbers and letters without sanding away the numbers and letters?

thanks..
